About the Hinge Effect

It started with one conversation.

The Hinge Effect was created from a simple belief: lasting transformation doesn't happen all at once. It begins with small, intentional choices that open the door to something greater.

Whether it's finding hope, improving your health, growing as a leader, or discovering your purpose, every journey begins with a single step.

Our Story

The Hinge Effect didn't begin with a business plan. It began with a shared belief that small changes can transform lives.

Although our careers took different paths, we found ourselves asking many of the same questions. Why do some people find hope after hardship while others struggle to move forward? Why do small decisions often create the biggest changes? How can we help people build healthier lives, stronger communities, and brighter futures—not just for a moment, but for a lifetime?

Those questions eventually brought us together.

One of us had spent years working alongside students, educators, and families, helping young people discover hope, resilience, and a path forward. The other had spent her career caring for patients, advocating for preventive health, and navigating a life-changing cancer journey that deepened her understanding of perseverance, purpose, and the power of informed choices.

Although our professions were different, our mission was remarkably similar: help people move from where they are to where they were created to be.

We realized lasting transformation rarely begins with one dramatic moment. More often, it begins with one conversation, one healthy habit, one act of courage, or one renewed sense of hope.

That realization became the foundation for The Hinge Effect.

Today, The Hinge Effect is growing into a collection of books, educational resources, speaking engagements, and practical tools designed to help individuals, schools, organizations, and communities create lasting change through hope, health, leadership, and purpose.

Because we believe every meaningful change begins with a hinge.

Our Vision

We believe lasting change should be practical, accessible, and possible for everyone.

The Hinge Effect is more than a book, a curriculum, or a speaking platform. It is a growing collection of ideas, resources, and experiences designed to help people create meaningful change in every stage of life.

Whether we're working with students, educators, healthcare professionals, organizations, or individuals, our mission remains the same: to equip people with practical tools that open new possibilities and create lasting transformation.

Lasting Transformation.'
